Fairfax County, officially the County of Fairfax, borders both the City of Alexandria and Arlington County and forms part of the suburban ring of Washington, D.C.. Founded in 1742, the County of Fairfax has a population of 1.149 million. Home to George Mason University, the area is a diverse and technologically innovative location that boasts a vibrant arts and cultural scene with a sophisticated urban vibe.
